Congressional Black Caucus Foundation

History

The CBCF has awarded scholarships to talented and deserving students for nearly three decades. Each year, we award more than 200 scholarships to students across the United States. Recipients demonstrate leadership ability through exemplary community service and academic talent, while other received need-based scholarships to reward their persistence in pursuing a quality education. Our scholarship programs support current or upcoming college students across a variety of disciplines.

Horatio Alger National Scholarships

History

The National Scholarship is awarded to eligible students in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. National Scholars receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., during the spring of their senior year to participate in the National Scholars Conference.  Recipients must attend the National Scholars Conference to receive the award.

Horatio Alger State Scholarship

History

State scholarships are awarded to eligible students in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. The program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders.

Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc. Career & Technical Scholarships

History

The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc. Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund and the generosity of Association Chairman Emeritus and Endowment Fund President Walter Scott, Jr.  Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.

NFPA Youth Scholarship

History

The National Foster Parent Association offers scholarships to NFPA members whose birth, foster and US adopted youth wish to further their education beyond high school, including college or university studies, vocational/technical school or junior college.

Schneider Emanuel Scholarships

History

The American Legion, Department of Wisconsin Schneider-Emanuel Scholarship goes to three (3) deserving graduates of any accredited Wisconsin high school the sum of $1000.00 to be applied to the cost of continuing education at any degree granting college or university within the United States of America. It is the intent that this award shall enable a student to secure a baccalaureate degree. The first scholarships were awarded in 1968.

Students of Integrity Scholarships

History

Better Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin awards scholarships to Wisconsin high school students who have demonstrated character, leadership, and ethical values. The scholarships will be awarded for post-high school education at any Wisconsin-based accredited college beginning in the fall of 2019, including community colleges/technical colleges. As the scholarship recipients pursue their careers, BBB Serving Wisconsin hopes to develop future business leaders who will promote ethics in the Wisconsin marketplace.
