Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc. Career & Technical Scholarships

History

The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc. Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund and the generosity of Association Chairman Emeritus and Endowment Fund President Walter Scott, Jr.  Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.

Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund

History

The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund aids people active in movements for social and economic justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to students who are able to do academic work at the college or university level or are enrolled in a trade or technical program and who are active in the progressive movement.

The Forest County Potawatomi Foundation Scholarship Program

History

The Forest County Potawatomi Foundation has created a scholarship program for Wisconsin residents. Three different scholarship opportunities are available for Wisconsin residents seeking to enroll in one of Wisconsin’s accredited universities or technical schools/colleges.

Award

  • $2,000, $5,000, and $10,000 awards

  • Varies depending on which scholarship you are applying to 

Students of Integrity Scholarships

History

Better Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin awards scholarships to Wisconsin high school students who have demonstrated character, leadership, and ethical values. The scholarships will be awarded for post-high school education at any Wisconsin-based accredited college beginning in the fall of 2019, including community colleges/technical colleges. As the scholarship recipients pursue their careers, BBB Serving Wisconsin hopes to develop future business leaders who will promote ethics in the Wisconsin marketplace.

Edward Simeth Award

History

Intended for students enrolling in a Machine Tool Operations Program or Tool & Die Program at any accredited Wisconsin technical college.  

Award

  • $500 per semester 

Eligibility

  • Must be a resident of Wisconsin
  • Must complete the top portion of the application
  • Must complete an essay
